HR KING - FEARLESS

In 2009 out of thousands of competing artists HR King was selected by Jamie Chaux, the program director of RADAR RADIO as the first unsigned artist to be pushed on Commercial Radio and given a high rotation schedule for six weeks. The gambit paid off, his track was the second most added song on the Australian Radio Network, outpacing international artists including Madonna and slamming the Australian charts – achieving #1 on the AIR charts and #12 in the Hot 30 countdown (the first unsigned artist to accomplish such a feat). The song proved such a hit it was awarded a spot as one of Radar Radio’s top 10 songs of 2009.

Fearless is the follow up single to HR King's hit release ‘Glamour Baby’ - the video was shot over two full days in Cooma, the biggest town in the Snowy Mountains, with a population of around 8000. The council and locals were so thrilled to have HR King shoot a music video in their area that they organized for the video shoot, featured roads and surrounding areas to be completely blocked off from the public.

Not unlike the song, the protagonist in the video is attached to material objects like money and cars, the hold these luxuries have over him repeatedly stops him from finding his inner strength. Coming to grips with this flaw gives him the strength to move on with his life and in an anti-hero moment for a typical pop-star, HR King demonstrates that sometimes the best things in life aren't rooted in wealth.

Fearless is a very personal track for HR and he's been deeply involved with the production of the song, from writing the lyrics and melody to starring in the video. Fearless reveals to us all another side to his personality, the depth of his emotions and his skill as a songwriter.
